Netflix’s “Dance 100” is a dance competition show where dancers compete against each other to create the perfect dance routine. The reality series features eight different dancers who have performed for some of the biggest names in pop music. Now, however, they must don their choreographic hats and guide 100 of the world’s best dancers in their mesmerizing moves, bringing them one step closer to victory.
Hosted by Ally Love, the show features some of the most original and stunningly choreographed performances. 8. Dancing With the Stars (2005-)
Watch your favorite celebs hit the dance floor on “Dancing With the Stars.” Inspired by its British counterpart, Strictly Come Dancing, the reality show features well-known faces working with and competing against professional dancers and choreographers. Their fate is ultimately in the hands of the judges and the audience, but every week they try their best to show various dancing skills and unlock their charm, so as to keep these stars from being eliminated.
The feature-length series, directed by Alex Rudzinski and Phil Heyes, is similar to “Dancing 100” in that the choreographers play a key role, they dance with the contestants, and their ability to bring out the best in these celebrities makes or breaks their game .
7. Floor (2020-)
“Floored” is a comedy dance competition series that pits two teams of skilled dancers against each other. But the floor is no ordinary; it drops, flips, spins, tumbles, shakes, and does all sorts of tricks to throw dancers off and catch them off guard. This fun reality show is hosted by YouTube sensation Liza Koshy, who is also an admirable dancer herself. Similar to “Dance 100,” the series has well-known hosts and tweaks to its format to make it more entertaining.
6. Chinese street dance (2018-)
“Chinese Street Dance” is a must-see for those looking to experience China’s street talent. In line with “Dance 100,” this reality show also focuses on hip-hop and hip-hop. Director Lu Wei first selected talented dancers through auditions, and after multi-stage duels and group battles, he became the final undisputed winner. The show brought several related dance forms to the country, such as Krump, Waacking, Jazz, House, Breaking, Locking and Popping.
5. Dance Plus (2015-)
“Dance Plus” is a live Indian dance series in Hindi directed by Ashim Sen. Dancers from all over the country audition for the show in hopes of being selected and winning a trophy. There are no set criteria for their type of contestants, as the series offers opportunities for solo artists, duos, larger groups, children, adults and seniors, something for everyone. Their background doesn’t matter as long as they can genuinely entertain the audience with their riveting performances. Unlike “Dance 100”, there is no choreography in “Dance Plus”, and most of the performances are set by the contestants themselves.
4. Legend (2020-2022)
“Legendary” is a reality TV series with about 8-10 LGBTQ+ members attending nine prom parties where they show off their dance skills, show off their style and walk the slopes. The HBO Max series, directed by Rik Reinholdtsen, is for all-around actresses who make their living entertaining. “Dance 100” viewers yearning to go beyond dance performances should undoubtedly add “Legendary” to their watch list, and enjoy bold fashion with energy and glamour.
3. So You Think You Can Dance (2005-)
“You Think You Can Dance” is one of the most popular reality TV series, where dancers from all backgrounds, styles and genres audition to showcase their talents. The judges selected only a few, and they went forward bravely on the journey to compete for the ultimate champion. Just like “Dance 100,” choreographers play a vital role in this show, as each episode has a different theme, dance form or style and requires an expert or master to guide the contestants. At the end of most performances, choreographers are given the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas behind the routine.
2. World of Dance (2017-2020)
World of Dance is an engaging dance reality show where judges score participants on their performance, technique, choreography, creativity and expressiveness. Additionally, entrants must have an impactful program that draws crowds. They need to be original in their artistic choices, clean in their execution, with smooth transitions, all while being elegant and refined.

“America’s Best Dance Company” is a competitive dance reality show created by Howard and Karen Schwartz. The MTV series provides a platform for national and international crews. Each week, each crew member has a different challenge they must adapt to stay in the game. The winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize, as well as love and respect. Some of the well-known award-winning groups that rose to fame after their performances include Quest Crew (twice), Elektrolytes, Poreotics and We Are Heroes. Parallel to “Dance 100,” the show also relies on street-style dancing, coupled with stunning choreography.
