Nwaneri, 15, made his Premier League debut in the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Brentford in September, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history when he was substituted in the last minute of the game.

Asked how important it is for a team like Arsenal to retain young talent, McCavney told Football Insider: “Arteta is all about giving kids a chance, and I think it’s a great way to do it.
“They have to play with other experienced players.he [Nwaneri] Will look at the players who come off the team and think ‘they’re young, I want to play with them’.
“If you go somewhere else, where are you going to play? He won’t be walking into a Premier League team.
“If they think he’s worth a lot of money, they have to pay him what it’s worth to keep him and guarantee that he’ll get on the team and get a chance. But it could also just be his agent saying everyone is after him.“
