Florian Plettenberg is convinced Man United’s top priority is Victor Osimhen – Man United News And Transfer News

Respected German journalist Florian Plettenberg believes Victor Osimhen is Manchester United’s top priority this summer as the Red Devils look to add a world-class striker to their squad.

Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo were never replaced by United and doubts remain over whether Mason Greenwood will play for the club again after his off-pitch alleged offence.

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been plagued by injuries and loanee Walter Weghorst is unlikely to remain at the club beyond June.

As reported here yesterday, Osimhen has been linked with United in recent months after a torrid season for the Nigerian helped Napoli to the top of Serie A and into the Champions League quarter. a final.

A €150m double takeover for him and centre-back Kim Min-jae is already under discussion.

Whether that’s true or not, Plettenberg claims United’s interest in the 24-year-old is real.

“United really want him,” he said via sports witness.

“We heard that he is also ranked higher internally than Kolo Muani.”

That in itself contradicts reports earlier this week that United were ready to make a €120m bid for Osimhen’s French rivals.

United are also reportedly pursuing Tottenham’s Harry Kane, but some reports from top journalists this week have suggested Osimhen is the favourite.

Neither will be easy to come by, given the club they currently own has notoriously tough negotiators, Napoli’s Aurelio De Laurentiis and Spurs’ Daniel Levy.

United have also been linked with Benfica’s Gonzalo Ramos, Ajax’s Mohamed Koudus and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Cesco.
