Manchester United academy duo named in England’s U19 squad for upcoming games – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United duo Kobbie Mainoo and Omari Forson have been named to the England U19 squad for the upcoming international break.

Mainoo and Forson are United’s only representatives in the final selection list.

England’s U19s are hoping to secure a place in this summer’s U19 Euro final in Malta.

The youngsters will face Hungary, Iceland and Turkey as part of their journey.

The top two teams after three games will automatically advance to the finals in July.

There is no doubt that manager Simon Rusk wants to deploy Mainoo, who is currently enjoying a breakthrough season at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag.

Mainu made his first-team debut in January’s Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Charlton Athletic 3-0.

Since then, the 17-year-old has been a regular in United’s senior squad, mostly on the bench.

Mainoo has also been training with the first team and Ten Hag says the player has earned this treatment due to his good training performances and great work ethic.

Menoio also bowed in front of the United faithful during a 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.

With the Red Devils on cruise control in this clash, Ten Hag saw fit to bring Mainoo into the program and let him experience the big time.

Fussen is a creative midfielder who joined Manchester United in 2020. He broke into the U-18 team and has been a regular with them ever since.
