MISSION, Texas (Valley Central) — A Honduran immigrant was arrested after grabbing a Border Patrol agent’s genitals, documents show.
Cristian Enrique Maldonado-Quintanilla was arrested on charges of assaulting or interfering with a federal official.
Several Border Patrol agents went to Bentsen State Park in Mission to activate the drawbridge at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, according to a criminal complaint obtained by ValleyCentral.
As agents were patrolling the area, a K-9 alerted them to the smell of five men running out of the bush. Agents then began hunting down the group.
According to the document, one of the agents met Maldonado-Quintanilla, who appeared to be submissive. However, when the agents tried to make contact, Maldonado-Quintanilla pulled away and attempted to flee, leading to an altercation between the two.
“During the struggle, Quintanila caught [the Border Patrol agent] through the testicles,” the complaint said. “[The agent] He had to punch Quintanilla about four or five times in the back before Quintanilla released his testicles. “
Other agents arrived to assist the agents and helped handcuff Quintanilla. Maldonado-Quintanilla provides a Mexican resident card showing Honduran nationality.
His detention hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 21, records show.
