AUSTIN (KXAN) – Severe storms swept through central Texas Thursday night, bringing large hail and a lot of lightning.

After Thursday’s cold front, the temperature dropped significantly. With highs in the 50s, this might be one of the coolest St. Patrick’s Days in Austin history.
The KXAN First Warning Weather team is forecasting cooler conditions to last through the weekend before bouncing back to the 70s by the middle of next week.
