Alan Hutton insists Joshua Kimmich is exactly the kind of player Liverpool need in their rebuilding squad.
However, specifically for football insiderthe former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender does not think Kimmich will be leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon.
According to Spanish media reports marca (May 19), Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in signing the 28-year-old this summer.
The German club are seeking at least £52m to part ways with the midfielder and are unlikely to lower their asking price.
Kimmich is currently under contract until 2025 after joining from Stuttgart nearly eight years ago.
Hutton insists the addition of the Germany international would be unthinkable for the Reds.
“I think it’s a fantastic signing for Liverpool,” he said. He said football insider.
“At 28, he still has a lot of football, he’s a great footballer, but I honestly don’t think he’s going to leave where he is.
“I think it’s a really good signing for Liverpool, I think that’s the kind of player they need to rebuild their midfield, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.“
Jurgen Klopp’s side will look to add reinforcements to their midfield as they embark on a massive overhaul of their squad this summer.
The Merseysiders are close to agreeing a deal for Brighton midfielder Alexis McAllister.
The Reds have also expressed interest in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea should the Blues choose to sell this summer.
