Musician, Stunner yesterday appeared in court on accusations of assaulting his wife after a brawl sparked by a cellphone after a performance at a music concert at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday night.
Through attorney Mr. Dumisani Mthombeni, pleaded not guilty when he comes up prior to the Harare magistrate. The stunner was charged with physical abuse for reportedly assaulting his wife Dyonne Tafireyika.
The 41-years-old rapper was remanded to May 11 for trial by Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure over the alleged attack on 23-years-old Dyonne.
It is alleged that on Sunday, 10th of April 2022 at around 02:00 AM, the couple was at HICC where Stunner was performing alongside other artists at a music concert dubbed “Dope Party”. The duo was booked for a night at the hotel. It is alleged that Dyonne went to the washroom where Stunner followed and forcibly pulled her out.

The court heard that the rapper and musicians dragged Dyonne to the parking bay where he began demanding her cell phone. Dyonne rejected to hand over the cell phone and hit it, it is claimed. Stunner reportedly began assaulting his wife. Tafirenyika informed cops that she was left bleeding from her nose and fingernails after Stunner beat her and ripped out her artificial nails.
No medical report was tabled in court, though after she reportedly refused treatment after the incident at the Rainbow Towers hotel at around 02:00 AM last Sunday.
The National Prosecuting Authority claimed that Stunner was performing at the hotel, and the dup had booked the room where they would seemingly retire for the night. Stunner left court separately from his wife, his head covered under a black hoodie.
