Kiran Bala Sachdev, better known by her stage name Tabbassum, has died. Condolences poured in for Kieran after her death was announced. In 1947, the veteran actor made his debut as child actor Baby Tabassum. The famous actress died at a Mumbai hospital at the age of 78. She had two heart attacks on Friday night, the first at 8:40 and the second at 8:42. The actress has been exhibiting health issues for the past few days and was taken to a Mumbai hospital.
Actress Tabassum Govil dies
She was released from hospital a few days later, but was back in hospital on Friday night. In the next two minutes, she experienced two cardiac arrests. Tabassum’s son, Hoshang Govil, claims his mother wanted to keep her death a secret until she performed her last rites. Today in Mumbai, she performed her last rites. She was the inaugural host of India’s first talk show ‘Phool Khile Jain Gulshan Gulshan’ which aired on National Broadcasting Company Doordarshan from 1972 to 1993, interviewing various film and television personalities.
Many movie and TV fans are familiar with Tabassum because of her discussions of classic Indian movies on her YouTube channel, Tabassum Talkies. Indian freedom fighter Ayodhyanath Sachdev and journalist and author Asghari Begum planted Tabassum in Mumbai in 1944. Tabassum made his debut as a young child in the 1947 film “Nargis” and went on to star in a string of subsequent films including “Mera Suhag”, “Manjhdhar”, “Bari Behen” and “Deedar”.
She is the subject of the famous song “Bachpan Ke Din Bhula Na Dena” sung by Shamshad Begum and Lata Mangeshkar. She also played the young Meena Kumari in Vijay Bhatt’s hit film “Baiju Bawra” (1952). Tabassum and Vijay Govil tie the knot.
He is the older brother of Arun Govil. It can be said that her departure broke the hearts of many people. Everyone seemed saddened to learn of her untimely death. Everyone in her family and loved ones are mourning her passing. Since her death was announced, social media has seen posts and messages of condolences.
